Everyone Loves Entertainers.

Entertainment is another word for fun. Who doesn’t want to have fun? Billions of dollars are spent every day on music, dance, theater, movies and TV. The Entertainment Industry is shaping the culture of our societies. The entertainers are millionaires that are adored by the masses.

Why don’t we have more young people pursuing a career in the Entertainment Industry?

Since the advent of radio, movies and TV millions of people have the opportunity to be entertained, in the comfort of their own home by fabulous singers, spectacular dancers and elaborate theatrical, movie and television productions. This is a wonderful development except that it deprives almost all talented people from a career in the entertainment industry. In the past, millions of talented performers would have been needed to staff the theaters. Now, we only need a few hundred that can broadcast to billions of people via mass media and entertain them (often at no charge) right inside their living room. Because of this development, the probability for performers to generate sufficient income to survive is miniscule. Few parents are willing to take the risk and allow their children to fulfill their dream instead of becoming accountants, math teachers, secretaries and nurses so they will have a better chance for economic survival.

Why so Few people Develop their Talent to Entertain Themselves and Others?

It’s useful for a young, talented Dancer to memorize the dates that Panama gained its independence from Colombia but why only few private schools (mostly in Southern California) have good dance curriculums? Don’t young people need fun and exercise as much as they need to know the date that Christopher Columbus got lost while trying to go to India?

Are Acting skills useless unless you get a job as a professional actor? Could lawyers with acting skills do a better job when presenting their case to the jury? Surely sales representatives that can act will close more sales. Even doctors that know how to act can be more convincing in persuading their patients to take their medicine. Teachers that can act would inspire and motivate their students to do better at school. Then why not teach acting as part of the curriculum?

Canaries chirp all day and we admire them but the talented singer may get in trouble or ridiculed while singing in the bus or the cafeteria after he or she finished eating lunch. Schools think that it’s not important to teach singing. So kids must learn math and exercise their brains before they can be allowed to sing and exercise their lungs and hearts. Since their no time is left for singing after an exhausting day at school and homework, then just let the kids slouch in the couch, eat chips, drink soda while watching others singing and having fun.

Finally, your time has come.

Professional video, editing and other equipment used to cost million and were only accessible to big entertainment studios with deep pockets. Now you can do it even with your cell phone and a simple computers that is accessible by most everyone. Then, put it on the net and you are on your way on becoming a star. All you need is determination, courage to take the first step and devotion to keep on honing your skills to become better. You may never become another Selena Gomez or Justin Beeper but in our time you can get some online income from places like YouTube. You can also get some more cash by getting local gigs and performing in parties, restaurants and other events.
